A local referendum in Haywards Heath, just up the road from the Society’s base in Brighton, has been won overwhelmingly (17 to 1) by the Yes campaign, who were protesting against the redevelopment of the rather shabby area around the station. The referendum is non-binding, and turnout was only 22%, so it will be interesting to see what the district council do in response.
