Systemic Climate Action Collaborative
The Systemic Climate Action Collaborative is a global initiative uniting leading foundations, philanthropists, corporations, and public institutions to drive systemic climate action and transformative change. It brings together 15 diverse implementing partners with a collective track record of 250+ years in science-to-policy, innovation, financial mechanisms, community-led development, and leadership activation. The project aims to break siloed approaches and create integrated, cross-sectoral solutions to address climate, environmental, and societal challenges holistically.
Why It Matters
We are heading towards a world of 3 degrees. Climate change worsens poverty, inequality, and biodiversity loss, yet current efforts are fragmented and reactive. A holistic, cross-sectoral approach is essential to break this cycle.
Objectives
By 2040, the Collaborative aims to:
- Reduce 40 gigatons of CO₂ (10% of 1.5°C carbon budget).
- Restore 35M hectares of degraded land.
- Improve resilience for 1 billion people.
How It Works
To achieve these, the project invests in underfunded leverage points such as:
- Narrative & Mindset Shifts – Changing public perception and behaviors.
- Enabling Conditions – Strengthening education, civic trust, and access to resources.
- Policy Support & Amplification – Aligning global, regional, and national policies with sustainability goals.
- New Financial & Economic Models – Developing asset classes and funds for sustainability.
- Integration & Orchestration – Combining diverse solutions for maximum impact.
